The 2008 show season is here already
and I would like to extend a warm welcome to our many automotive,
boat, steam enthusiasts, vendors and guests. As a car guy myself,
like you, we know how popular the antique auto industry is today
as we have seen in the dramatic growth of only four shows at Fleetwood
Country Cruziein. Watching this evolve into a world class event for
so many people to meet and enjoy makes the one year of planning very
much worth while. It was only by accident that we involved nine charities two years ago and this year twenty-one will financially benefit. To me it
does not get any better when we can have this much fun and incorporate
such a large charitable element.
Last year's event attracted people from seven
states, seven provinces and Europe with media coverage everywhere
including the B.B.C. Without intention we set five national records.
George Barris, Bobby Curtola, Peter Noone, Frankie Avalon, Fabian and Bobby Rydell have all appeared at shows in the past.
This year's event will certainly be over the top.
The line up includes George Barris , Adam West, Julie Newmar, the real Batcopter, a Batmobile of George's, Batcycle clone,
steam exhibit, several antique boats and special vehicle exhibits. This will be the first time in history so much Bat stuff will be brought together.
This year we are expanding the steam exhibit even further, Porsche farm tractors to be added.
We are very excited to have one of the twelve G.M. Futurliners here for the first time in 50 years. The parade of progress traveling technology show ran from Cuba, Mexico, USA and Canada from 1940-1958 being discontinued with the arrival of TV.
It is just impossible to list all the special exhibits so come out and enjoy.
It is an automotive extravaganza like no other !
All the best!
